Fusiform Aneurysm

The term fusiform aneurysm is used to describe an aneurysm based on its angioarchitecture1. Fusiform aneurysms are characterized by a spindle-shaped dilation of an artery. Fusiform aneurysms can be divided into two subgroups and account for approximately 5% of intracerebral aneurysms2:

Simple Fusiform Aneurysm

Simple fusiform aneurysms have no branching vessel and represent a spindle-shaped arterial dilation3.

Complex Fusiform Aneurysm

Complex fusiform aneurysms have at least one branching vessel arising from the spindle-shaped vascular dilation4.
