The aperturae laterales ventriculi quarti, which in clinical practice are usually referred to as the foramina of Luschka, are a paired connection between the internal and external cerebrospinal fluid spaces.

Anatomy

These are two lateral openings of the fourth cerebral ventricle into the subarachnoid space. The aperturae laterales arise inferior to the inferior cerebellar peduncles.
