Synonyms: Durasack

In clinical usage, the term dural sac refers to the caudally blind-ending connective tissue tube formed by the inner layer of the spinal Dura mater.

Clinical relevance

The caudal portion of the dural sac below the body of the third lumbar vertebra is used as the access site for Lumbar puncture.
