Corpus Callosum Angle

The corpus callosum angle is the angle between the medial walls of the lateral ventricle on coronal imaging.

Measurement

A correct measurement of the corpus callosum angle is performed in a true coronal slice centered on the posterior commissure and aligned orthogonally to the AC-PC line and the longitudinal cerebral fissure. At this slice level, the angle between the medial wall of the lateral ventricle is then measured[^2].

Clinical relevance

The corpus callosum angle can be used as an aid in diagnosing normal pressure hydrocephalus. Normally, this angle is 100–120 degrees; in patients with normal pressure hydrocephalus, this angle is flattened and typically measures 50–80 degrees [^1].
