The caudate nucleus is a paired large nucleus in the brain and part of the basal ganglia and partly responsible for controlling voluntary movements.
Anatomy
The caudate nucleus is located deep within the cerebral hemispheres, directly at the wall of the lateral ventricle and partially protrudes into it. It has a C-shaped appearance and is divided into the head of the caudate nucleus, the body of the caudate nucleus, and the tail of the caudate nucleus[^1].
Imaging
The caudate nucleus can be visualized in MRI imaging.
