Balloon compression is a procedure used to treat Trigeminal neuralgia.

Procedure

During balloon compression, an inflatable balloon is advanced through the Foramen ovale to the Gasserian ganglion and inflated, thereby compressing it.

Imaging

The correct position of the balloon is typically verified using fluoroscopy.
