The TICI (Thrombolysis in Cerebral Infarction) classification is used to grade cerebral perfusion after thrombolysis has been performed[^1].
Classification
TICI Grade | Cerebral Perfusion |
TICI 0 | No perfusion. No anterograde flow beyond the site of occlusion. |
TICI 1 | Penetration with minimal perfusion. Contrast medium passes the site of occlusion but cannot perfuse the entire vascular bed distal to the obstruction. |
TICI 2 | Partial perfusion. Contrast medium can pass the site of obstruction and opacifies the vascular bed distal to the obstruction. However, both the flow rate and washout of the contrast medium are markedly delayed compared with the healthy side. |
TICI 2a | Only partial filling (<2\/3) of the entire vascularized territory is visualized. |
TICI 2b | Complete filling of all vascularized territories is visualized, but filling is delayed. |
TICI 3 | Complete perfusion. Anterograde flow of the contrast medium is as rapid as on the healthy side. |
