The extended Glasgow Outcome Scale is a modified version of the Glasgow Outcome Scale and is used to classify outcome after a traumatic brain injury[^1].

Grade | Designation | Definition |
1 | Dead | Dead. |
2 | Vegetative state | Unable to follow commands. |
3 | Lower severe disability | Dependent on others for care. |
4 | Upper severe disability | Independent at home. |
5 | Lower moderate disability | Independent at home and in the community with mental and/or physical disabilities. |
6 | Upper moderate disability | Independent at home and in the community with mental and/or physical disabilities. However, in a better condition than Grade 5. |
7 | Lower mild disability | Able to resume normal everyday activities. However, with some limitations. |
8 | Upper mild disability | No limitations. |
