Sacroiliac joint injection

Sacroiliac joint injection refers to the targeted injection of local anesthetics and/or corticosteroids into or around the Sacroiliac joint (SI joint). In neurosurgery, it serves both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in patients with lumbosacral pain, particularly for differentiating these symptoms from radicular pain syndromes, facet joint pain, or other pathologies of the lumbar spine[^1].
