Microdiscectomy

Microdiscectomy is a microsurgical procedure for removing intervertebral disc tissue that compresses a nerve root or the dural sac. It is considered the standard procedure for the surgical treatment of symptomatic lumbar disc herniations with radicular symptoms and represents an advancement of the classic open discectomy.
