Ligamentotaxis

Ligamentotaxis is a trauma surgery reduction principle in which dislocated fracture fragments are indirectly restored to their anatomical position by controlled distraction through intact ligamentous and capsular structures[^1]. The term is derived from the Latin words ligamentum (ligament) and taxis (alignment, reduction).
