Fibrillar

Fibrillar is the brand name of a commonly used hemostatic agent in surgery. It is used for local hemostasis in various surgical disciplines, including neurosurgery. It consists of oxidized regenerated cellulose.

Application

Fibrillar assists in controlling capillary and small venous bleeding[^1].

Resorption time

The resorption time of Fibrillar is approximately 7–14 days[^1]

Tumor resection cavity (right temporal) filled with Fibrillar. On imaging, it has characteristics similar to air.
