Synonyms: D wave, Direkte Welle

The D-wave (direct wave) is a term used in intraoperative monitoring. It results from activation of the motor pathway, represents the sum of all electrical discharges, and can be recorded epidurally caudal to the surgical site.

Interpretation

A decrease in amplitude of more than 50% from baseline is associated with long-term motor deficits1.
