Basilar sulcus

The basilar sulcus is a bony groove in the anterior portion of the pons, where the basilar artery runs.

Anatomy

The basilar sulcus is vertically oriented and located at the midline of the pons. The basilar artery runs within the basilar sulcus. The basilar sulcus is bordered on both sides by a bulge formed by the fiber bundles running through the pons.
