Posterior fontanelle

Synonyms: posteriore Fontanelle, kleine Fontanelle

The posterior fontanelle refers to a connective tissue closed fontanelle at the rear part of the child's skull. It has a triangular shape and normally closes in the 2nd to 3rd month of life[^1].
