The Pelvic Tilt is a parameter used to help determine the sagittal balance of the spine.
Definition
The Pelvic Tilt is defined as the angle between a vertical auxiliary line starting from the center of the head of the thigh bone and a line connecting the center of the head of the thigh bone with the center of the top plate of S1[^1].
Normal Values
In a healthy person, the Pelvic Tilt is about 15-25°[^2].
Interpretation
A Pelvic Tilt of more than approximately 20° suggests that the patient is compensating for a sagittal imbalance[^3].
