Inferior frontal gyrus

The inferior frontal gyrus is located in the frontal lobe and is located lateral to the middle frontal gyrus.

Anatomy

The inferior frontal gyrus is divided into three parts by the ascending ramus and anterior ramus of the lateral sulcus. The most frontal is the pars orbitalis, followed by the pars triangularis and pars opercularis.

Imaging

The inferior frontal gyrus can be optimally visualized in MRI imaging.
