The greater palatine foramen is a paired bony opening in the palatine bone.

Anatomy

The greater palatine foramen is the opening of the greater palatine canal. It is located anterior to the lesser palatine foramina. Through the greater palatine foramen, the greater palatine nerve and the descending palatine artery reach the mucous membrane of the hard palate.
