Synonyms: Intraparietal sulcus

The intraparietal sulcus is a sulcus located on the lateral surface of the parietal lobe. This horizontally running sulcus separates the superior parietal lobule from the inferior parietal lobule.

Anatomy

The intraparietal sulcus runs almost parallel to the longitudinal fissure of the cerebrum and begins at the postcentral sulcus[^1]. With respect to the surface cranial landmarks, the intraparietal sulcus is located approximately 4 cm lateral to the midline and about 6-7 cm posterior to the bregma[^1] [^2].
